Healogics Wound Care Centers® across the United States are helping to raise awareness of the link between diabetes and non-healing wounds during the seventh annual Diabetes Awareness Week, being held October 26 – 30, 2020.
Diabetes Awareness Week is dedicated to raising awareness of the importance of early intervention and specialized care for diabetes-related chronic wounds, such as diabetic foot ulcers. Currently, 34.2 million Americans have diabetes and 2 million are struggling to heal a diabetic foot ulcer. Program directors are dedicating the entire week to educating physicians, patients and the general public about the prevalence of diabetes and the dangers associated with diabetic foot ulcers.
