As the leader in wound care, Healogics is committed to sharing the results of our research. We recently published a paper in a peer-reviewed medical journal titled, “Reducing Unwarranted Clinical Variability through Patient Visit Frequency.” In summary, we found that the number one variable that has the most impact on Comprehensive Healing Rate is visit frequency.

June is Men’s Health Month. We, at Healogics, are bringing awareness to the various health conditions that men suffer from, such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease or prostate cancer. With early detection and appropriate treatments, these conditions can be managed or even prevented.

Too frequently, we hear about people who have, for one reason or another, delayed medical treatment, and often they put it off for far too long. The reasons why range from financial concerns to time constraints to the hope that “this will just go away on its own”. Even if one was able to overcome those obstacles, limited access to quality healthcare due to social inequality often presented yet another barrier.

I could not think of better timing for us to be celebrating Wound Care Awareness Week than right now! We have all endured the unthinkable, a pandemic that has taken over 100,000 American lives and 360,000 worldwide. The US numbers are greater than the number of lives lost in major wars. Wound care providers, however, continued to provide the necessary and important care that their patients needed through it all.
